Property Tax Exemption & Deferral Programs

Some taxpayers may qualify for tax exemptions or tax deferrals. Exemptions generally provide a reduction in the amount of taxes due, whereas deferrals provide temporary relief by applying the deferred taxes as a lien against the property.

Below are a few categories of exemptions & deferrals provided by the Oregon State Department of Revenue. The county assessor administers these programs and is responsible for determining if applicants meet the qualifications. Questions about these programs should be directed to the county assessor’s office.

As we are upon the 4th quarter of 2024, it is time to see how YOU, as an agent measure up to the market. And maybe, just maybe, realize, that while this year was rough, you’re doing great. Really.

And now is the time to take control of your 2025 success. Do you have a business plan? What is your time management plan? How often do you PROSPECT? Do you have a listing strategy that includes price adjustments, expired dates? How are you planning to retain your PAST clients? Gain FUTURE clients. AND why is this important? The numbers, that is why. Let’s take a look at what the Agent Sales Force has accomplished year-to-date.

YTD Overall:

  • Listed units:                                                5,210
  • Sold units:                                                   5,259
  • Total agent sales force:                               3,366
  • Agents with 1 or more closed deals:          1,814
    • 54% of the agents closing
    • 46% agents with ZERO production

In other words…. There are 3,366 agents in the Willamette Valley Multiple Listing. (WVMLS)

  • 46% have ZERO production or 1,552 agents with ZERO production.
  • 456 agents with 1 closed deal YTD – 13%
  • 2,008 agents with ONE closed deal OR less = 59% of the agent sales force.

YTD AGENT LISTING PRODUCTION:

  • Listed units:                                                   5,210
  • Agents with 1+ LISTING(s):                           1,307
    • 25% of the agents control LISTINGS
  • Agents with 5+ Listings:                                308 = 0.5% (of the sales force)
  • Agents with 7+ Listings:                                184 = 0.34%
  • Agents with 10+ Listings:                              103 = 0.19%
  • Agents with 15+ Listings:                              49 = 0.09%
  • Agents with 20+ Listings:                              27 = 0.05%
  • Agents with 25+ Listings:                              18 = 0.03%
  • Agents with 30+ Listings:                              14 = 0.02%
  • Agents with 40+ Listings:                              7 = 0.01%

These are WILD TIMES, and ONLY the STRONG, the PERSISTENT and wildly CONSISTENT, will survive!!
